相信去过英语风采之星大赛现场的朋友一定会为English show环节中的幽默百出所折服，没有到场的朋友也不要感到遗憾，就让我们来个“情景再现”，重温一下当晚的笑料。
最灵活的辩解
“以病假为由逃课，却在餐厅聚餐时被辅导员‘逮个正着’，你们作何解释呢？”这是一个情景设置，由外教老师扮演辅导员，“逃课的同学”将如何为自己辩解呢？
Contestant（选手）:“We just want to give you a surprise.”(“我们只是想给你一个惊喜”)
James（外教）: “You guys surely gave me a big surprise that sicking for classes but eating out here.”（你们确实已经给我了一个大大的惊喜——请假说生病却在这里聚餐）
C:“No, not that you thought of. Well, you know, we took part in this competition and we just want to get ready well for performing better.”(不是你想的那样的，你知道，我们参加了这个比赛，我们是想准备更充分然后更出色的发挥。)
J:“Oh, the way you get ready well for competition is eating here.”(噢，原来你们更好的准备比赛的方式就是在这聚餐呀)
C: Well, you know, it is very exhausting of preparing for the competition. We just want to grant ourselves in this way, we are too tired.（准备比赛让我们筋疲力尽，我们只是太累了，只是想用这种方式奖赏一下自己）
最荒谬的理由
Noah: Why are you so late for the class.？(为什么迟到这么长时间？)
C: I am sorry, but my dog died. （很抱歉，但我的狗死了）
N: Dog？You have a dog? What’s name of your dog ?（狗？你养狗？叫什么名字？）
C: Elvis, not Elvis Presley, just Elvis Presley. （Elvis，不是Elvis Presley，就叫Elvis Presley. 注：Elvis Presley是美国摇滚王“猫王”的名字）
N: Well, I am sorry for hear that. （听到它死了的消息我很抱歉）
